saturday. investigators arrested more than 20 people and only one person is an actual resident of san francisco. police think some of those may have been involved in another protest last month. most were arrested on riot. police say they damaged cars and businesses near california and battery streets. some say the police over reacted and used too much force while making arrests. dozens gathered at city hall today calling to officially remove suspended san francisco sheriff ross mirkarimi from office. the rally comes on the eve of the board's board to decide if domestic violence should cost him his job. they urged them to move forward with the progress towards ending domestic violence. they don't believe ross mirkarimi is qualified at this time to protect victims of

domestic violence. the vote is set to come after testimony, mayor ed lee and ross mirkarimi's lawyers. his wife plans to attend the hearing in support of her husband. the california highway patrol is investigating a crash that injured two bicycle riders. they were in a group of four riding on highway 29 this afternoon. the california highway patrol says a car hit them after 12:30 p.m. both bike riders suffered major injuries. the driver stayed at the scene and coping with -- cooperating with investigators. the record high gas prices in california. ktvu's consumer editor tom vacar is here with more.
